Laborer
Reports to and receives assignments, instructions, and direction from the Foreman or General Foreman. Good communication skills, reads and interprets instructions and procedures. Highly motivated, hardworking and sound knowledge about manual labor requirements. Able to lift more than 30 lbs routinely. Will participate in routine maintenance projects and activities to include roads and grounds maintenance, demolition of old buildings not in service, cleaning and sanitizing of showers/latrines/ablutions units. Supports all tradesmen by receiving and hauling materials and equipment to and from the work site. Completes records, maintains power tools along with other equipment, and performs various clean-up and housekeeping activities. Collect/sort/dispose of garbage on camp and at the incinerator site. Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Skills typically acquired through 1-2 years of experience in outdoor manual labor positions.
Preferred:
Knowledge and/or experience in construction or crafts & trades discipline
Additional requirements:
- Must be fluent in English
- Must possess passport book with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
- Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
- It should be understood that employment may be located in potentially dangerous areas, including combat or war zones. This might involve the possibility of suffering harm by dangerous forces or friendly fire. These dangers are inherent to working conditions in a dangerous environment.
