A Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of the press/public relations (PR) activities used by the hotel to increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets and address hotel business needs.

What will I be doing?
As Marketing & Communications Manager, with the hotel’s strong brand presence and reputation in the global market, this senior management position will play an essential role in developing and implementing the annual PR and marketing plan, driving key objectives, current initiatives and leading relevant activities relating to the hotel. The role will be responsible for directing the hotel’s PR and marketing team, driving results and ensuring the department performs an integral role in bringing together all function areas to ensure commercial targets are heightened.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS:
1. Lead and direct the overall hotel PR and marketing function and be the “PR and marketing hub” to align all key functions such as, regional marketing, regional communications, revenue management, sales, finance, hotel operations and F&B as well as e-Commerce
2. Develop and implement an annual bespoke marketing and PR plan by segment in line with budget requirements to ensure the hotel meets their revenue targets
3. Ensure effective PR and marketing strategies are in place, with a focus on driving brand awareness, building key media relations and keeping ahead of evolving market trends
4. Responsible for departmental budgets ensuring tight cost control and operational effectiveness
5. Drive all brand, media and customer partnerships and maximize all opportunities for revenue generating and non-revenue generating activities
6. Strong network with local media.

A Marketing & Communications Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts is always working on behalf of our guests and working with other team members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
College Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or Hotel Management
Experience of working in a similar senior marketing and PR position in the hospitality industry in the luxury segment for a number of years
Experience of directing, managing and motivating a winning team along with evidence of driving successful team results
An advanced knowledge of creating, leading and managing projects and campaigns recognizing priorities and working to budget restraints and tight deadlines
Complete understanding of key functions relating to PR and marketing strategies and initiatives whilst managing multiple work streams
Considerable experience in developing and implementing effective and realistic PR and marketing plans and strategies, including budget evaluation, extensive communication written work, management and reporting
Skills:
Outstanding communication skills in all areas of writing, listening and speaking English.
Communicates key information effectively to all levels of management using a variety of communication tools
Able to think analytically, critically and strategically when faced with unique opportunities, challenges, prioritizing and identifying productive solutions
Demonstrates a sound understanding of commercial awareness and has the ability to influence others in key situations whilst maintaining positive relationships
Demonstrates extensive experience of written work in a marketing and/or PR role Qualifications or courses relating to creative, descriptive or effective writing
Able to establish excellent interpersonal skills amongst teams by demonstrating strong leadership and cultural sensitivity
Outstanding knowledge of commercial and environmental awareness whilst identifying and executing calculated risks with pre-determined successful outcome
