Summary:
The Teaching Assistant, Computer Science and Engineering supports the faculty and students within the Computer Science and Engineering and Information Systems programs areas by providing students with, running demonstrations and practical laboratories and workshops session to students in coordination with the faculty who is assigned to teach the course. The appointee’s scope of work includes the installation, demonstration, maintenance and trouble- shooting of equipment and facilities in computer laboratories. This is a hands-on role which will have the teaching assistant working closely with faculty and students in the laboratory. The teaching assistant is required to set up the lab in preparation for experiments.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant discipline is required Current advanced industry certifications such as Microsoft, CISCO, Security/Networking, Server and/or Hardware are preferred. Preference is given to candidate with at least 3 years of progressive hands-on experience in hardware and software support.
Ability to understand the queries of students and direct them to the appropriate resource.
Practical experience with PC and OS support troubleshooting and implementation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience in a complex networking environment with CISCO equipment is preferred.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multi-cultural environment.
A demonstrated willingness to engage in professional development activities in order to improve current skills and acquire new skills, and to adapt to the evolving needs of the organization.
