A professional database administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7.
Provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and front-end accessibility for end-users.
Qualifications
• BSc. in Computer Science
• 5+ years’ experience as a Database administrator
• SQL Server DB Monitoring, Installation & Configuration
• User Administration, Replication, Backups, Restoration plates.
• Security implementation, Audit, Patches and Migration
• Query (SQL) Tuning, Performance Tuning
• Manage multiple Servers on various Windows / UNIX platforms supporting different critical applications round the clock (24/7)
• SLA Adherence & Status reporting
• Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests
• Ensuring strict compliance as per company policies and procedures
• Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
• Knowledgeable in database design, documentation, and coding
• Knowledgeable in programming languages API
• CRM software implementation and management
Responsibilities
• Design and implement database in accordance to end users’ needs
• Enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format, and in a timely manner
• Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
• Minimise database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
• Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
• Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures, and standards
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
• Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
