Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the Onshore Construction team to support the objectives and strategies of the Project.
- Champion safety in all construction aspects of Project and promote the safety objective that “Nobody gets Hurt”.
(ads1) - Manage the On-Island Construction teams responsible for the planning, development and operations to ensure construction execution certainty.
- Manage the Onshore Contractors’ construction planning and execution efforts to ensure compliance with Project objectives, strategies, obligations and requirements.
- Establish a construction organization to implement the Onshore Project execution plans and procedures and coordinate resourcing of Onshore construction team positions.
- Provide construction and execution strategy support to the Onshore Project Team through construction oversight and assistance.
- Ensure that the Onshore Contractor and Subcontractors are compliant with project safety expectations, policies and procedures.
- Steward the development of an Integrated Safety Plan for Onshore construction, including SIMOPS for all island and brownfield work.
- Assist in the review and implementation of all Onshore Contractor safety plans.
- Steward interfaces and interactions between the Onshore Contractors and other Project entities (ECW, AUP, EPC1, Initial Production), Production Operations, and Drilling.
- Ensure that the detailed design deliverables support constructability.
- Report construction progress, performance, initiatives and issues to the Project Team.
- Lead onshore construction planning teams to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities.
- Sponsor construction related readiness reviews, constructability workshops and CERs.
- Take a leadership role in mentoring and training UAE Nationals in construction management.
- Clearly communicate to direct reports short term and long term goals that support the project objectives.
- Encourage and recognize outstanding performance and ensure that staff are appraised regularly and developed accordingly.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering – Preferably complemented with Masters Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of previous Construction management experience on large oil and gas development projects.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (written and verbal) and an ability to work with people across a diversity of cultures.
