Job Summary
Serves as a fully capable professional in an architectural design team. The Senior Architect plans, (including budget + resources), schedules, organizes, coordinates and executes the design work on any/all phases of development on small to medium scale projects (or distinct portions of larger projects), with regular interaction with an Associate or designated senior team member.

Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, working drawings, develops details, develops specifications

Participates in pro-active coordination with internal and external design disciplines to achieve a high quality consistent set of presentation or design documents as per Client requirements and Industry standards

Responsible for the preparation and compilation of design presentations and reports

Plans for and applies Safety in Design principles throughout all design stages of a project

Reviews / Checks material schedules and sample boards

Takes responsibility for preparation of discipline drawings for submission to the Statutory Authorities. Developed knowledge of local & international codes, regulations and submission requirements

Provide technical support to site supervision teams and resolve design related issues on site

Coordinates and leads the assigned team of Architects and Technicians on a day to day basis and ensures that design excellence is achieved throughout

Leads design work on small to medium scale projects or particular packages for large projects ensuring project objectives are met, design instructions are implemented and delivery is achieved within the set time and budget fee

Leads design team meetings to ensure all team members are participating and providing feedback. Motivates them and facilitates them to bring ideas and solutions to the table

Responsible for architectural resource planning for the project and reporting project needs to senior team members

Routinely interacts with clients, contractors, local authority representatives and others using skills of persuasion and negotiation to resolve critical issues

Promotes teamwork within architectural team (including the GDC), maintaining positive moral and instilling a creative culture within the team

Manage interface between design team / site supervision team ensuring proper design support is provided in a timely manner

Minimum Requirements
-
Minimum 10 years post undergraduate experience
-
Proven related professional experience in an Architectural Practice
-
Experience of working on medium to large scale projects including site experience
Preferred Qualifications

B.Arch. or B. Sc in Architecture

Postgraduate in Architecture or Urban Design
-
International Accreditations (RIBA, AIA or equivalent)
-
Sustainability Certification (LEED, PQP or equivalent
